Groundworks has been selected to design the master plan for Myrtle Square, a 1938 garden court multi-family residence in the historic Dilworth neighborhood. Garden court residences grew out of the need for housing in urban areas after World War I. Myrtle Square is a rare local example of the Art Moderne architectural style. Garden court residences are well integrated into natural settings. They typically include a central courtyard and other common areas to encourage social interaction and community engagement among residents.
