The courtyard is located within the center of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College campus. Formerly sterile and unwelcoming, the courtyard has been transformed into a dynamic gathering place full of colors and textures. A symbolic stream in the form of a curving pathway connects circulation from different parts of the campus. Eddy areas carve out outdoor rooms for study, socializing, and dining. A diverse canopy tree layer has established the next generation of trees on campus. Collaborators: boomerang, Bulla Smith Design Engineering, and Elm Engineering.
